About

Kieran Fionn Murphy was born in New York City and moved to Rockland County, where he attended Green Meadow Waldorf School. He studied philosophy at Connecticut College and worked in tech before moving to Ireland, where he co-founded Murphys Ice Cream in Dingle with his brother.
He holds an MA and PhD in creative writing from University College Cork.
Kieran is interested in themes of place, especially County Kerry, adventure, food, Irish folklore and mythology, poetry, health, and love.
He is currently looking for a publisher for a literary fiction manuscript, Sweetie, set in present-day West Kerry, that covers the themes above and also aspects of diabetes, an endemic but largely invisible disease.
He is now working on short stories and a historical/speculative adventure novel set in the 5th Century.
