About

Kieran Fionn Murphy was born in New York City and moved to Rockland County, where he attended Green Meadow Waldorf School. He studied philosophy at Connecticut College and worked in tech before moving to Ireland, where he co-founded Murphys Ice Cream in Dingle with his brother.
He holds an MA in Creative Writing and is pursuing a PhD in the same from University College Cork.
Kieran is interested in themes of place, especially County Kerry, adventure, food, Irish folklore and mythology, poetry, health, and love.
He is currently looking for a publisher for a novel, Sweetie, set in present-day West Kerry, that covers the themes above and also different aspects of diabetes, an endemic but largely invisible disease.
He is also working on a historical/speculative adventure novel set in the 5th Century.
